when在此句中用来引导时间状语从句。when引导的时间状语从句中，从句的谓语动词可以是延续性动词，也可以是非延续性动词。如：

拓展】⑴while也可用来引导时间状语从句，但从句中的谓语动词必须是延续性动词。如：
while i was in london, i got to know him.

while还可以表示“然而”，强调前后对比或两个动作同时进行。如：

2.重点语法： 过去进行时。
过去进行时由was/were doing构成。它可以用来表示“过去某一时刻或某一时间段正在进行的动作”。常见的时间状语有：
at this time yesterday, 在昨天的这个时候；at eight o’clock yesterday, 在昨天八点等；也常出现在when/while引导的时间状语从句中。如：
what were you doing at this time yesterday?
