精讲点拨】1. how long did it take to get there? 到那里要花多长时间?

1) it 是形式主语,真正的主语是后面的to get there,英语中常用“it takes + sb.+ 时间段+to do sth.” 这个句型来表达“某人花多长时间做某事”

it took betty 3 days to finish reading this book. 贝蒂花了3天时间才读完这本书。

思考:如果用spend来表达这个句子,应该怎么说?

2) how long 常用来提问时间段和长度,表示“多长时间;多长”。

2. spend和take的用法:

spend 动词,意为“花费” ,主语常为人,常用结构为:

sb. spends some time on sth. /sb spends some time (in) doing sth. (in 常省略)

某人花费多少时间做某事”

take 动词,意为“花费” ,主语常为“it”常用结构为:it takes sb some time to do sth. “做某事花费某人多少时间”

3. excite,excited和exciting辨析:

excite 动词,意为“使……激动”。

excited形容词,意为“激动的,兴奋的”。修饰人。

exciting形容词,意为“令人激动的,兴奋的”,修饰物。

the woman is so excited when she sees her lost boy. 当她看到她丢失的孩子时, 那个女人是如此激动。the news is exciting.

那个消息是令人激动的。

4. a lot是口语中的一个常用词组,多用于肯定句,有时也用于疑问句。其主要用法有如下几点:

a) 作名词短语,表示“很多;多量”,在句中作主语、宾语或表语,其后常有动词不定式短语作后置定语,如:sometimes we h**e very little snow, but sometimes there’s a lot.有时我们这儿雪很少,有时却又很多。

(作主语)

he g**e her a lot to eat. 他给了她许多吃的东西。(作宾语)

you know a lot/much about english names. 你知道许多有关英语姓名的情况。(作宾语)

this is a lot. 这真多。(作表语)

b) 作副词短语,在句中作程度状语,表示“很;非常;常常”,如:

it usually rains a lot/much at this time of year. 每年这个时候都经常下雨。(修饰动词rain)

do you wear your new watch a lot? 你常戴你的新手表吗?(修饰动词wear)

i like this dress a lot. 我非常喜欢这件裙子。

5. where are you going on holiday, tony? 你假期打算去哪儿,托尼?

be on holiday / h**e a holiday在度假。

on holiday 可以和be或go连用,表示“在度假”或“去度假”的意思。

6. meet sb.可以表示以下含义:a) 迎接某人b)遇见某人c) 认识/结识某人

a) can you meet me at the airport tomorrow?

b) nancy met her friend lily in the street yesterday.

c) glad to meet you!

7.语法:行为动词一般过去时态的特殊疑问句。

构成:疑问词+ did + 主语+ 动词原形 + 其它。如:what did you do last night?
