要求能正确地读出单词new zealand,southeast;并要求会拼如下单词diection,north,south,east,west,point,country,grandparent,2．通过学习对话，让学生学会方位的表达。

**一north,south,east and west 北南东和西；这四个单词，指示四个方位。（1）north．south，east，west这类表示方位的词一般作名词，其前常用定冠词the.

**一。1)表示方位的词也可作形容词。
they live on the east coast．他们住在东海岸。
2) 表示方位的词也可作副词。
le**ing the city，we headed north．离城后，我们向北走。
例1】mary (住在)the （南方）of china.
解析】 “住在“要用“live+介词”表示，主语mary为第三人称单数，故live也要用第三人称单数形式。“南方”用south表示。
答案】lives in；south
**二 north points up on a map．在地图上北面指着上方。
句中point的用法，你知道吗？
point作动词，意为“指；指向”，后面接宾语时，要。
用介词，也可直接接副词。句中的up为副词'意为“向上”。

例2】south points a map．

解析】 根据“上北下南左西右东”，“南”一般指下方。“在图上”用介词on。 【答案】 c

句中的southeast是什么词性？
1)southeast作名词，意为“东南方(部)”，构成为：south+east.类似的south--west意为“西南部(方)”；northeast意为“东北部(方)”；northwest意为“西北部(方)
his family moved to the southeast of this city last year．他家去年搬到了这个城市的东南方。
2)southeast还可作形容词，意为“东南方(部)的”。作副词，意为“向东南，在东南”。
it blows from a southeast wind today．今天刮的是东南风。
