1. what’s your name? 你叫什么名字？
1) 这是一个询问对方姓名的特殊疑问句，后面可加上please表示客气礼貌。
其答语形式为：i’m + 姓名或 my name’s + 姓名，也可简答直接说出名字。
-what’s your name, please?
my name’s ben. =i’m ben. =ben.
2) 句中的your 可以换成 his, her, its等形容词性物主代词，用以询问他人或物的名字。
-this is a cat. what’s its name?
-it’s mimi.
3) what’s 是 what is 的缩写形式。英语中经常出现的缩写形式一般是在第一个单词后加“’”再加上第二个单词的第一个辅音字母，这时应按照缩写形式读音。
常见的缩写形式有：
i am = i’ m he is = he’s it is = it’s that is = that’s
what is =what’s who is = who’s
注意：this is 不能缩写。
2. i’m jenny. 我叫珍妮。
i’m 意思为“我是”，这是一个做自我介绍时的句子，类似的说法还有 my name is…
3. nice to meet you! 见到你很高兴！
这是双方初次见面介绍时的问候语，以示礼貌，答语仍使用该句，通常在后面加上too，用逗号隔开。
-alice: jim, this is li ming.
-li ming: nice to meet you.
-jim: nice to meet you, too.
注意：nice to meet you 也可替换成 glad to meet you 或者 glad to see you.
4. and what’s her name? 她又是什么名字呢？
这是询问第三者姓名的问句。 当被询问的人是男性时用his， 是女性时用her。

1）这是用来询问对方**号码的特殊疑问句，还可以说成 what number is your telephone?

it’s = it is“它是”。it是代词，“它”。 it是表示第三人称单数的人称代词。用法如下：
1）用来代替前面提到的某物。

2）用来指代陌生人或不确定的人。
–who is over there? 谁在那儿？ -it maybe susan. 可能是苏珊。
3）用来表示时间、距离等。
it’s sunday today. 今天是星期天。
it’s about five kilometers. 大约五公里。
辨析：it is, it’s与its：
it is “它是”。 it’s是it is 的缩写形式，使用时：
1）在句首时it’s 与it is可以互换。
2）在一般疑问句的肯定简略回答中，只能用it is，而不能用it’s.

- yes, it is. 是的，它是我的。
its是形容词性物主代词，“它的”，其后需接名词，不能单独使用。
