一、抓住文章的主题。（一般在文章的段首或段尾或者隐含在段落中）了解文章的大意或写作的方向。
二、通读文章，了解文章的内容，要在句子的基础上理解而不是单独的单词。
三、带着问题读文章。阅读文章前最好把文章后面的问题先看一遍，做到心中有数，然后带着问题去阅读短文，边读边捕捉文中与问题相关的信息，初步掌握文章大意和作者意图。
四、把握住五个“w” (who when，what，why，where)和一个“h” (how)。在了解文意的基础上，理顺思路，摸清脉络，然后把着眼点转到文章的每一个段落上，尽快把握住文章的五个 “w”，和一个 “h”。就算是抓住了整个事件的过程，即文章的细节，做题时就会收到事半功倍的效果。
五、在阅读的过程中遇到新单词不要慌，可先圈出来，然后通过上下文去猜测它的意思，有时候可以不理会这些新单词。
六、了解阅读题的考查方向：概括能力，推理能力，辨析细节的能力，归纳信息的能力，信息匹配的能力等等。
