explain the language points to the class.
1. it was sunny and hot all day. 全天阳光灿烂,天气很热。
all day意为“全天,整天”。类似的还有all night 整夜,all week整周,all year整年。eg:
he didn’t go to sleep all night. 他一整夜都没睡觉。
2. we had great fun playing in the water. 我们在水中玩得很愉快。
h**e fun doing sth. 意为“……过得很愉快”,与h**e a good time同义,也相当于enjoy oneself。eg:
we’re going to h**e fun learning and speaking english this term.
这学期的英语学习和口语训练一定会给我们带来乐趣。
3. i found a small boy crying in the corner. 我发现有一个小男孩在角落里哭。
1) found是find的过去式,该句型为:find sb. doing sth,意为“发现某人正在干某事”。doing sth. 是现在分词。
作宾语补足语。eg:
he found a dog lying at the gate. 他发现门口躺着一条狗。
(2) in the corner 指“在……的角落里”。而指外角的顶点时,可用at the corner或on the corner 等。eg:
there is a shop at the corner of the street. 在街道拐角处有家商店。
4. he was lost and i helped him find his father. that made me feel very happy.
他走丢了,我帮他找到了他爸爸。这件事让我感到很幸福。
(1) be lost 意为“丢失、迷路了”。eg:
my watch is lost. 我的表不见了。
(2) help sb. do sth. 意为“帮某人干某事”。
help 后的不定式可以带to,也可不带to,但make后的不定式则不带to。故其句型为make sb. do sth.。
eg:we helped farmers to pick apples last october. 去年十月我们帮农民摘苹果。
the teacher made me read english every morning. 这个老师让我每天上午读英语。
还可以说help sb. with sth.。eg:
he helped me with my english. 他帮我学英语。
5. today the weather was cool, so we decided to play tennis. 今天天气很凉快,所以我们决定去打网球。
cool 在这儿指“凉爽的”。decide to do sth. 意为“决定干某事”。eg:
i decided not to go to school today. 我决定今天不去上学了。
