it强调句”就是使句子的某一部分比一般情况下显得更加重要。英语表达中，要强调句子的某一成分，一般可用强调句型“itis(was)+that(who)+句子的其余部分”。it在句中无意义，只起引出被强调部分的作用。
被强调的部分指人时，除可用that外，还可换用who（强调宾语指人时也可用whom）。使用强调句型时，应注意以下事项：
1.去掉强调结构it is (was) …that(who)…后，剩下的词仍能组成一个完整的句子。这是判断是不是强调句型的关键。

it is you and tomthat didn’t come yesterday.（强调句）
2在强调主语时，that后的谓语动词要与被强调者保持人称和数的。
如：it is i who am a teacher.
3.在强调not … until结构中由until短语（或从句）表示的时间状语时，要用固定的强调句型it is(was) not until ..that...
that从句中的谓语动词用肯定式如：my father didn't come home until 12 o'clock last was not until 12 o'clock last night that my father came home.
4.在强调一般疑问句中的某一成分时，主句要用一般疑问句的语序：把is/was提到it前面。
如：was it in beijing that this happened?
5.特殊疑问句中只有疑问词可以强调，其强调结构是。
被强调部分（通常是疑问代词或疑问副词）+ is/was + it + that/ who +其它部分？"如：where was it that you were born?
