语法解析。1，animals are pretty amazing. 动物是相当令人吃惊的。
pretty 作为形容词是“漂亮的，可爱的，精致的”意思。
此句中的pretty 是用作副词， 修饰amazing, 意思是“相当地，颇”。
例如：it’s pretty cold outdoors today.
今天户外颇冷。
2，which animal is your f**ourite?
哪一种动物是你最喜欢的？
类似的句型有：which festival/sport /subject is your f**ourite?
这句话也可以说成what’s your f**ourite fasteval /sport/subject ?
或what festival/sport/subject do you like best?
3, cheetahs run faster than any other animal.
猎豹比其他任何一种动物都跑得快。
这个句型是用比较级形式表达最高级的意思。
比较级+than any other +单数名词，表示比其他任何….都…“
例如：1)， he is better than any other student in the class.
他在班里比其他任何一名学生都好。 （暗指：他是最好的）
he is the best student in the class.
2)， this watch is more expensive than any other watch in the shop.
在这个店里这只表比其他任何一只表都贵。 （暗指：这只表是最贵的）
this watch is the most expensive in the shop.
they worked the hardest. 他们工作最努力。
这句话用了副词的最高级。副词的比较级和最高级的变化与形容词相同。但副词的最高级前可以不加the, 所以这句话也可以说： they worked hardest.
1), she can dance (the) best of all.
她是所有人中跳舞跳得最好的。
2), who can jump (the) highest of the three?
谁在这三人中跳得最好？
3), tom can run (the)fastest in my school.
汤姆在我们学校跑的最快。
上文中所有副词的最高级前面的the 都可以省略。
4， how long can they live?它们能活多久？
一 ）how long 意思是“多久，多长时间”。它的答句一般是for+一段时间。
例如：1） how long can i keep the book?
for three days.
2） how long will you stay there?
for a week.
二 ）how long 可以是多长（长度）的意思。
例如：how long this rope?
这绳子多长？
