一、教材背景和学情分析。
一）点出本单元的话题和相关的语言知识。
本单元以“籍贯和某座城市方位”为话题展开讨论。
在本单元中将学习1)询问国籍where are you from. 2) 询问国家或城市在什么地方？where is britain ?
it’s in europe./ it’s in the south of ….3）表示请求询问的句式 can you tell me more about ….
二）相关内容上位知识分析及结合上位知识分析确定的本单元的教学重难点。
该话题学生们在低年级时就已经学过了where are you from? 和一些国家的名称，二年级已经学过了询问和描述物体空间位置的功能句where is---it’s --所以本单元侧重学习以下几点：
1） 国家的英文名称（全称和简称）和座城市位置。
2） 美国、英国、加拿大等国的首都、位置、语言、国旗等知识。
3） 标志性建筑的名称、用途。
本单元的功能句不难掌握但是该单元涉及的文化背景知识较多因此该单元教学的主要难点是：
1） 国家和城市的认读如：美国全称，华盛顿，洛杉矶。
2） 英、美、加的基本概况。
三）各单元、各课知识点之间的联系、整合、铺垫与延伸。
本单元的教学内容相对独立，初步了解主要英语国家概况。
lesson 15 主要介绍了美国概况：语言、首都及全称。
lesson 16 主要介绍了英国概况：首都及其方位、主要的标志性建筑。
lesson 17主要介绍了加拿大概况：地理位置和语言。

二、本单元具体教学目标：

2. 就询问国籍、询问国家或城市在什么地方、表示请求询问的句式进行描述，在不同的情景灵活运用。

二、教学目标：
一） 知识与技能目标：
1. 能正确的理解课文内容，朗读课文，程度好的学生可以表演对话。
2. 使学生了解美国的首都、所在的位置、语言、国旗以及美国的背景文化等，能听懂会说表示方位、询问等用语，并能在实际情境中初步学习使用。

二）过程与方法：
1. 通过自我介绍、ppt展示，以及美国的地图等教具使学生了解美国所在的位置、首都等结合主题图使学生正确的理解课文内容。通过跟读录音、角色表演、pair wok 使学生能够正确朗读课文。
2. 通过ppt、**、pair work ，操练等形式使学生能够听懂会说表示询问对方来自于**？并能做出相应回答的话题，以及通过练习能够听懂会表达美国的首都、美国的语言及美国所在的位置等，并在实际情景中初步学习。
3. 四会词汇借助语音，拼读、等训练方法，使学生达到听说读的程度。
4. 通过城市的代表性建筑并采用问答的形式，使学生理解和会读认读词汇。

1. 培养学生自主学习的精神与自信心。
