unit 1 how tall are you?
一、单元教学内容分析。
本单元的语言功能项目是talk about the height, length and weight，话题为figure，语音项目为双元音/ei/, ai/, oi/的认读及由这些音素组成的音节和单词的拼读。
二、单元教学目标与要求。
一）知识与技能。
1、通过第一单元的学习，学生能对身体或事物的高矮、大小、重轻、长短进行描述和问答。
2、四会（听、说、读、写）掌握的单词有：taller, shorter, older, younger, stronger, thinner, bigger, smaller, longer, he**ier等。四会掌握的句子有：
how tall are you? i’m 164 cm tall. you’re shorter than me.
you’re 4cm taller than me. how he**y are you? i’m 48kg.
i’m thinner than you, and shorter.
3、能够运用计量单位kg和cm，能根据所给的数据，运用比较词than进行事物或身体的比较或描述。
4、能够认读音标/ei/, ai/, oi/，并能拼读有以上音素组成的音节和单词。
5、了解story time部分的内容，能听懂会唱歌谣let’s chant部分及歌曲my pets。
6、初步了解good to know中重量、长度单位的英语表达形式并能在实际生活中运用。
二）情感与文化。
培养学生在观察和测量中联系英语的习惯。
了解计量单位的完整和缩写的写法及换算方法。
三、课时安排。
第一课时：part a let’s learn part a let’s play part c let’s sing

第一课时。一、教学目标。
1、 使学生能听、说、读、写有关比较级的单词taller、shorter、older、younger、stronger。
2、 使学生知道形容词比较级变化的一般规律。
3、 使学生知道than是比较的意思，than前要用形容词的比较级。
4、 使学生了解cm、kg分别表示长度和重量单位，并学会它们的读音，并会回答句子how tall are you? how he**e are you?
5、 培养学生分析与仔细观察的能力。
6、 通过游戏，培养学生学习的兴趣。
7、 学生能听懂会唱歌曲《my pets》
二、教学重、难点。
1、能掌握本课时的四会单词，并能用含有比较级的句型替换关键词进行问答。
2、长度单位cm的完整形式centimeter的发音。
三、教学用具。
录音机、磁带、**，拉力器，课件。
四、教学过程。
1、 热身导入。
t: how are you, boys and girls? today, first let’s chant, ok?
然后教师**三年级学过的一首歌谣：tall, tall, tall, make yourself tall. short, short, short, make yourself short.
big, big, big, make your eyes big, small, small, small, make your eyes small. long, long, long, make your arms long, short, short, short, make your arms short.请学生跟着节奏一起边唱歌谣，边做动作。
2、 学习taller、shorter，了解表示长度单位的单词。
教师出示姚明与教师本人的**，让学生先观察**并用英语自由地说一两句话，然后教师出示姚明的身高223cm，并教学表示长度单位的单词的完整写法centimeter和缩写cm及朗读方法，然后教学句子yao ming is 223cm tall。之后教师请学生用句子… is …cm tall.来说一说自己及同学的身高。
最后教师请学生来猜猜教师有多高，并和姚明比较，引出单词taller、shorter及句子“… is taller than…” is shorter than…”的教学。
3、 游戏操练。
教师出示一系列的对比**，请学生同桌合作用句子“… is taller than…” is shorter than…”来说说**中的人和物。
4、学习单词older、younger。
教师出示一大、一小giraffe长颈鹿的**。
t: the mother giraffe is taller, and the baby giraffe is shorter. the mother giraffe is older, and the baby giraffe is younger.
引出单词教学。
5、游戏操练。
教师首先示范游戏规则，t：now let’s play a game. guess:
how old am i ? if your number is more than my age, i will tell you younger. if your number is less than my age, i will tell you older.
教师先请学生猜猜自己的年龄，假如学生猜出的年龄比老师的实际年龄大了，老师就说younger, younger，假如比实际年龄小了，老师就说older, older。然后教师出示一些人物的**，按照上述方法请学生们来猜猜他们的年龄。
6、学习单词stronger，了解表示重量单位的单词。
教师出示举重运动员占旭刚的**，t: look, he is strong. i’m strong, too.
然后教师拿出拉力器用力拉开，t: i can do it, can you? 然后请两个学生来试试，从而引出单词stronger。
接着教师询问力气较大的同学how he**y are you?来让学生掌握重量单位单词kilograms(kg)的表达法，然后教师请学生们用句子i’m…kg.来说说自己的体重大约是多少。
7、游戏。请学生用句子i’m…kg.去告诉同学自己的体重，然后找到与自己体重在一个范围内的同学（20kg—29kg、30kg—39kg…）之后相互比赛扳手腕，胜利的同学可以说i’m stronger.
8、 let’s do
教师对book 2中的歌谣进行改编，taller, taller, taller, make yourself taller. shorter, shorter, shorter, make yourself shorter. older, older, older, make yourself older, younger, younger, younger, make yourself younger.
stronger, stronger, stronger, make yourself stronger.
9、 let’s play: 游戏可以4-8小组为单位，展开活动。先比身高，教师请小组中的每个成员说出自己的身高i’m…cm tall.
其他同学听清楚，然后教师口令line up from shorter to taller!或line up from taller to shorter.请学生迅速按照要求排好队伍。
10、教师**歌曲录音，要求学生欣赏歌曲，并看歌词，然后教唱。
11、布置作业：抄写单词并背诵。
教学后记：第二课时。
一、教学目标。
1、能听、说、读、写句型how tall are you? i’m 164 cm tall. you’re shorter than me.
you’re 4 cm taller than me. 并能在情景中运用。
2、能描述自己的年龄，体重，身高，并能与别人进行比较。
3、听懂完成本部分的听力练习。
4、能完成group work中的采访活动。
二、教学重、难点。
四会掌握句型： “how tall are you? i’m 164 cm tall.
you’re shorter than me. you’re 4 cm taller than me.
三、教学用具。
录音机、磁带、多**课件。
四、教学过程。
1、教师呈现交际句型。
t: boys and girls, we are one year old than before. i’m 27. how old are you this year?
ss: i’m 12/… years old.
t: how tall are you?
ss: i’m 143 cm/… cm tall.
2、游戏：采访名人。多**出示一些名人的个人档案，请学生扮演记者采访名人。
3、教师课件出示姚明和潘长江的**，问学生who is taller? 学生回答之后，教师再点击鼠标出示句子补充说yao ming is 60cm taller than pan changjiang. 教师接着问学生who is older?
引出句子pan changjiang is 11 years older than yao ming.
4、学生练说。课件出示一些学生较熟悉的名人的**及他们的相关资料，请学生用句子“… is 30/40…cm taller than ….is 3/8…older than ….
来说一说。
