单词识记】1. another adj. 又一的；再一的。
辨析】 another, other两者都可以用作形容词或代词，但区别在于：another意为“任何一个”，一般用来修饰或代替单数可数名词，其前不加其它定语，多指三者或三者以上，表示的是不定数目。例如：
would you like another apple? 你想再吃一个苹果吗？
other 意为“别的”，既可修饰或代替单数可数名词，也可修饰或代替复数名词(others), 其前多用定冠词the, 特指两者中的“另外那个”或多者中的“另外那些”。例如：
i h**e two is twelve, the other isthirteen. 我有两位朋友，一位十二岁，另一位十三岁。
there are ten books on the bookshelf. four are mine, the others are my father’s. 书架上有十本书，四本是我的，其余的是我父亲的。
2. whom pron. 谁；什么人。
辨析】 who和whom都可用作疑问代词，who是主格，whom是宾格。例如：
whom are you going to tr**el with? 你打算与谁一起旅行？
whom are you waiting for? 你在等谁？
who is on duty today? 今天谁值日？
在日常口语中，常用who代替whom作宾语。我们可以说who are you waiting for? 但是who不能直接用在介词后面。
若直接用在介词后面，就必须用whom。例如： to whom is she writing?
她在给谁写信？
