一、词汇。1. devote vt. 献身；致力于；专心于。
1) devote sth ( time, money, energy, one’s life) to (doing) sth 把…用于/献给。
2) devote oneself to (doing) sth. 献身于，致力于。
devoted adj. be devoted to (doing) sth
献身的；专心致志的 they are devoted to their study.
忠实的a devoted husband
挚爱的they are devoted to their children
devotion n. 献身/忠于/挚爱。
拓展】to为介词的短语。
attend to 办理；照顾；注意听。
be opposed to 反对。
object to 反对。
contribute to 为…做贡献。
get down to 着手做。

2. equal
adj.相等的；平等的 a be equal to b 与…相等 adime isequalto 10 cents.
胜任的 be equal to (doing) sth. 胜任 (做)某事。
vt. 等于 a equals b. a等于b 5 added to 5 equals 10.
比得上 a equals b in sth. none of us can equal her in intelligence.
n.对手，同等/相等的人或物 without equal/h**e no equal 无与伦比/无比。
equality n. 平等
equally adv. 相等地，平等地。
3．vote v. 投票； 选举 vote for sb/sth 投票赞成……
vote against sb./sth 投票反对……
vote on sth 就某事投票。
n. 投票，选票，表决。
4. escape
v. 1)escape doing sth 逃避做某事。
being done 逃避被……
2)escape from /out of … 从…逃出去 escape from reality 逃避现实。
escape from the prison 越狱
n. 逃离；逃脱
注意： “九死一生”的表达。

5.1)reward表示由于做了某事而应该得到的东西。
v. 报答；酬谢 reward sb for doing sth 因某事而报答某人。
reward sb with sth 用……报答某人。
n. give a reward to sb for… 为某事给某人报酬（或赏金）
in reward (for…) 作为（对…的）回报。
2）award 正式官方的颁发、授予。
v. award sb sth

二、短语。1.1）out of … 失去；脱离。。。
