1. upset :
1）upset sth./ sb 使某人烦恼，使某人心烦意乱。
2）be upset about/从句对。难过/失望 be upset about him/his failure
2. ignore→ ignorant (adj)
1）ignore sb/sth 装没看见。不理睬。忽视。be ignored by one's superior
2） be ignorant of / about...对。一无所知eg:be ignorant of/about the law/modern
technology
3. concern
1) be concerned with...与。有关，涉及。牵扯。eg: be concerned with the case 与。
本案件有关。
2) be concerned about/over/for...担心。忧虑。
we are all concerned about/for his safety.
3) concerning 与。有关的 eg: a problem concerning polluction
4. settle
1) settle the difference with sb . 消除与某人的分歧。
2）settle in ..定居在。eg: settle in america/ canada
3) settle down (1)安定或安顿下来 (2) 安静/平静下来 eg: 1)..settled down after
getting married
2)..settled down at the start of the lesson
4) settle a problem 解决问题。
vi. 受痛苦/折磨/受损害 1)sb seemed to h**e suffered a great deal.
显然受过不少苦 2)one's reputation suffered a lot. 某人名誉大受损害。
vt. 受到，遭到 suffered endless misery遭受无休止/无尽苦难。
suffer form...受。之苦，患。病
1)suffer from high blood pressure/cancer
2) suffer from cold and hunger
suffer a great loss 遭受巨大损失。
suffer a defeat 遭受失败。
6. recover
1) recover from ..恢复健康或常态 eg: recover form the operation/his father's
death2) to recover sth 找回某物 eg: to recover the stolen car
7. add
1) add up 把。加起来 eg: to add up all the numbers
2) add up to ..加起来是。合计、总计 eg: .added up to be 2050
3) add to...增加 eg: add to our difficulty/happinese
4) add in...加进去，把。包括在内 eg: add in the cost of postage 包括邮资。
8. go through
1) 经历 few men know what he has gone through.
2) 经过 go through a long and hard period
3) 检查 to go through the company's accounts(账目）。
4）搜查 to go through one's pocket/bag
9. get through
1) 完成 get through the task within the limited time
2) 打通** the line was busy i didn't get through.
3) 通过，过关 get through the text
down1) 记录下 set down the key points
2) 让乘客下车 set down the passangers
set up 建立 eg: set up a new school/a monument(纪念碑)
set off (1)引爆(2）出发 eg: set off the fireworks /set off at dawn(黎明）
set out 出发 set out for the destination
11. be /get tired of sth/doing sth 对。厌倦，讨厌。
eg:she is tired of h**ing eggs every day.
be /get tired from 因。而感到疲倦 ..be tired from working so long a day.
12. get sth done=h**e sth done 让别人做。
get sb to do sth 让别人去做。
get sb/sth doing sth 让别人/某事物一直做。eg: the machine running all the
time.2. get the workers working all the day
13. make sb a ..使某人成为 eg: make sb a pop star
make sb do→ sb be made to do sth 让某人做。
make oneself + done 使自己被。make oneself heard/understood
14. it is/ was the first/second...time that+ 现在完成时/过去完成时。
eg: it is the second time that i've been to the great wall.
it was the third time that he had fallen asleep in class.
15. it is/was no pleasure/no good/ no use/useless+doing
it's useless talking about it with him.
