考点点拨】形容词在句中可作定语、表语、宾语补足语等。
作定语，放在名词之前、不定代词之后，某些形容词短语放在名词之后，如第13题。
某些形容词只作表语，如afraid, alive, alone, asleep, awake等。
形容词作宾语补足语时常与make, le**e, keep等动词连用。
某些以-ly结尾的词是形容词而不是副词。常见的daily, friendly, lively, lovely，lonely, silly等。
“基数词 + 连字符 + 单数名词（+ long / wide / tall / old等形容词）”构成的复合形容词可作定语修饰名词。
多个形容词修饰同一名词时常按“限观形龄色国材”（谐音为“县官行令杀国才）的顺序排列，即限定词（包括数词等）+ 大小外观 + 形状 + 长幼、新旧 + 色彩 + 国籍（或地区） +材料。如：a tall 17-year-old black american boy, the big round red wooden lid（盖子）等。
