1. family,home,house
family意为“家，家庭”，指家庭成员，home意为“家，家园”，指带有感**彩的“家”，house意为“屋子”，指住宅、建筑物。如：
i h**e a big family. 我们家人口很多。
my home is near to the train station. 我家离火车站很近。
there is a big tree in front of my house. 我家房子前有一棵大树。
2. job ,work 工作。
job指具体的某项工作，多指为换取报酬而从事的工作，是可数名词，work表示一种抽象概念，多指为完成某项任务所付出的体力或脑力劳动，为不可数名词。两词有时可以互换。如：
he found it difficult to find word/ a job. 他发现找工作很难。
she has s lot of work to do every weekend .她每个周末都有许多工作要做。
has got a job as an editor. 张先生找到了一份编辑工作。
3. people ,person,man
1） person指“人”，是可数名词。指具体的人，侧重于个体，无男女性别之分，常和数词连用，一般用于数目不大且比较精确的场合。如：
a young person came in.一位年轻人走了进来。
person还可以表示“身体，容貌，风度”等，是不可数名词，无复数形式。如：
she is small and neat of person.她长得娇小玲珑。
2）people 泛指“人们”，是集体名词，作主语时谓语动词用复数形式。如：some people speak french in this country .

the people 意为“人民”
如：we study hard for the people.我们为人民努力学习。
people还可表示“民族，种族”，是可数名词，其复数形式为peoples。
如：there are fifty-six peoples in china. 中国有56个民族。
3）man 指”男人”,与wowan相对，其复数形式为men.有时用来泛指一般的人，无男女性别之分，意为“任何人”。如：
