3 discuss vt. 讨论，议论。
点拨] discuss 为动词，后可接名词、动名词或“疑问词＋不定式”结构作宾语。常用搭配：discuss sth with sb 与某人讨论某事。

we're here to discuss ann's joining the club.
我们在这儿碰头是为了**安参加俱乐部的事。

拓展] discuss的名词形式为discussion，意为“讨论，议论”。

4 almost 和nearly
1)两者都可用来修饰不定代词、形容词、副词、动词、介词短语等，此时两者可换用。
it's almost/nearly impossible. 那几乎是不可能的。
2)almost 可用于 any 以及 no, none, nobody, nothing, never 等否定词之前，但nearly一般不能。
almost any man can do it. 几乎任何人都会做这件事。
almost no one came to the party.
几乎没有人来参加聚会。
3)nearly 前可用 very, pretty, not 等词修饰，not nearly 意为“远非”；almost 之前不能用这些词修饰。
it's not nearly so difficult as you think.
这远不像你想的那么难。

点拨] some more food 意为“另外一些食物”。在“数词＋more＋名词”结构中， more意为“再， 又”。
