男孩和女孩轮流坐在那里。assoonas的意思是“一…就…”引导时间状语从句。as soon as连接的时间状语从句中，指未发生的动作，规律是：
主句一般将来时，从句用一般现在时代替一般将来时如： as soon as i get to beijing，i'll write to you．我一到北京，就给你写信。指紧接着发生的两个短动作，主从句都用一般过去时如：

拓展】as／so long as作“只要”解，eg； as／so long as you study hard，you'll make progress．只要你努力，你就会取得进步。
so／as far as i know作“就我所知”解，在句中作插入语。eg： as／so far as i know，he will come here next monday．据我所知，他将于下星期一到这里来。

我们忍不住再三地看着地球。can’thelpdoing的意思是“情不自禁做……”如：when he heard the news, he couldn't help crying.
当他听到这个消息时，禁不住哭了起来。
但是要注意，如果can't help后接的不是动名词，那么，这里就是一般的否定句式，help仍然要翻译为“帮助”。如：but one hundred and ninety is their final bid.
